Silver trinket box from the Edwardian part of the Art Nouveau period.
Hallmarked in London in 1901. Manufactured by Mappin Bros who later became Mappin & Webb.
This silver trinket box has been well loved and rightly used as intended.
The exterior of the lid has signs of wear to the ornate pattern and general marks commensurate with its age. The lid still fits tightly and when removed shows the beautiful gilt lining which also has wear.
It’s a beautifully crafted piece.
