Mark Hayward
Mark Hayward is a very well respected man who has been involved in the rock music industry all his life.
He grew up in London. Their family flat also rented a room to a young woman who worked as a concert promoter for Queen. She introduced Mark to Queen in 1976 at the launch party for A Day At The Races. By then Mark was already a seasoned collector of rock n’ roll memorabilia.
In the 1980s Mark opened a huge shop called Vinyl Experience (off Oxford Street, London) Famous for selling George Harrison’s Aston Martin & Mercedes cars, Madonna’s gold lame top, Kurt Cobain’s guitar, signed LP covers, memorabilia, photographs etc.
Mark later used part of his substantial collection of photographs to create several separate books about Queen, the Rolling Stones, The Beatles and contributed to numerous other books. One of his books ‘Queen on camera, off guard’ regularly sells for £1,000. His photographs are still regularly featured in films, documentaries and magazines about rock stars.
Mark has two record labels and previously signed Mick Ronson, The Cranberries & Charlie Watts and many other musicians.
Mark has given Rutland Antiques & Art Centre exclusive rights to sell these photographs and memorabilia. Some of Mark’s other photographs were previously sold exclusively through Harrods.
We are very grateful to Mark Hayward for giving us this opportunity to sell such wonderful items of rock memorabilia and rare photographs.
