Description
Photograph of Freddie Mercury with Paul Humberstone.
Paul (Humberstone) met Freddie Mercury (or Bulsara as he was then known) at Ealing College in the late 1960s, the two became good friends. Paul was studying photography as part of his course and recognised what a great subject his friend Freddie would make.
We thank Paul for allowing us to share his unique collection. It shows this important phase of Freddie’s life, just as he began to consider a career in music in a serious way.
In this image Paul & Freddie are in the back garden of 42b Addison Gardens, West Kensington. “We had terrible late nights’” says Paul, of the shot of him yawning.
