Rare Military Bell Tent Post Rifle Holder
Used inside military bell tents to hold the barrel end of Lee Enfield rifles upright. The wooden butt would rest on the floor. This helped to keep the soldiers rifles dry and ready for action the following day. Used by the British Military forces and Allies during WW1 and WW2.
Consisting of 12 canvas loops secured to leather belt with additional leather trim and riveted with copper rivets.
Marked inside JC Co with serial number 12***47

Although lacking the military phaeton often found on such items, this was used by the British Forces and it’s allies during WW1 & WW2.
In overall excellent condition, there is the odd loose thread on the canvas. Some discolouration to the inside of the canvas loops where rifle barrels have been inserted.
